California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), a leading arts institution with over 70 programs across six schools, needed a modern, flexible LMS to support teaching across disciplines like fine art, animation, music, and theatre. The school was looking for a customizable platform to organize lecture materials, media content, and varied instructional needs, making Kannu a strong fit for its evolving pedagogy.

Kannu implemented two portals for CalArts: one for on-campus classes and one for distance learning. With Kannu, CalArts now hosts over 500 courses and has supported more than 2,900 coursework submissions, with over 100 instructors using the platform. The LMS’s user management, multimedia embedding, and interactive features helped CalArts improve course organization, student engagement, and online learning experiences.
