DOT Foods, the largest U.S. food redistributor, needed to protect and accelerate its mission-critical ERP and MS SQL environment as storage capacity ran out and costs for power, cooling, and growth kept rising. To support 4,200 users and a highly virtualized VMware infrastructure, the company looked for a scalable storage alternative with strong performance and disaster recovery capabilities. Kaminario was selected, using the Kaminario K2 all-flash storage system and Zerto DR software.

Kaminario implemented two K2 systems: one for production and one for disaster recovery, with Zerto replicating application and database VMs between them. The result was a more flexible and scalable infrastructure with sub-60-second RPOs, simplified VMware operations, and reduced storage footprint. DOT Foods also saw more than a 30% improvement in PeopleSoft batch processes, five-to-one data compression, and lower TCO with reduced power and cooling costs.
