Philips, a global leader in healthcare, lifestyle and lighting with about 116,000 employees worldwide, needed a way to inspire employee creativity and improve internal communication through video. The challenge was to provide an easy-to-use, easily integrated, employee-empowered video platform that would plug into their existing Facebook‑like social network (SocialCast), allow immediate channel creation and simple publishing without heavy administration, and be future‑proofed by open technology.

Philips deployed Kaltura’s CorporateTube solution as “BlueTube,” integrating it into SocialCast for seamless publishing and channel management. The platform was quickly customized and rolled out, enabling employees to share diverse content—from personal stories and charitable work to e‑learning—anytime, anywhere; engagement increased through commenting and liking, global collaboration improved, and Philips successfully empowered its workforce at scale.
