Gogo, a leading provider of in-flight connectivity and entertainment, needed a way to deliver premium streaming video to passengers across its commercial aircraft while meeting strict onboard, security, and integration constraints. The challenge was to provide a seamless, secure viewing experience that worked over the plane’s Wi‑Fi and tied into Gogo’s existing ATG network for purchases and DRM licensing.

Kaltura built a custom, on‑premise solution installed on each aircraft alongside Gogo’s receiver and router, storing an encrypted video catalog locally and serving content over the plane’s Wi‑Fi while using the ATG network only for purchase and DRM transactions. The result—launched as Gogo Vision™ on American Airlines’ 15 Boeing 767‑200s and select Delta flights—lets passengers browse, select, and stream premium video on their own devices, enabled by Kaltura’s flexible, open architecture.
