Fandom, a global entertainment media brand that works with 100+ freelance contributors, was struggling with a labor-intensive, email-driven onboarding and payment process that created heavy administrative overhead and anxious freelancers. To address this, Fandom partnered with Kalo and adopted Kalo’s Freelance Management System (FMS) to centralize onboarding, payments, and freelancer data.
Kalo implemented its FMS quickly, inviting freelancers to create accounts, complete onboarding documents, and track invoices and payments within days, giving contributors transparency into approval and payment status. The result was a dramatic reduction in time spent tracking payments (saving staff “over 10 hours a week,” per Fandom), faster issue resolution, improved freelancer satisfaction, and a more efficient freelancer-management workflow.
