Portman Dental Care is an award-winning private dental group that has grown rapidly — from 35 practices three years ago to 91 across the UK — driven by an acquisition-led strategy and a need to recruit more specialist clinicians and large numbers of practice staff. Darren Casey, Head of Recruitment, identified the need for a robust, scalable recruitment system to support this expansion, reduce churn impacts and ensure consistent, efficient hiring across geographically dispersed teams.

After evaluating suppliers, Portman implemented Kallidus Recruit with a 10-week rollout, training 130 hiring managers and equipping Darren’s five-person team to handle much higher application volumes. The web-based system improved visibility and workflow, aided GDPR compliance and talent banking, helped manage the recruitment load for 30 practice acquisitions in 2018, and delivered faster candidate responses and better end-to-end in-house recruitment — with analytics and reporting planned as the next step.
