How JYSK transformed their learning culture

Ivana Dragic Topic, Training Manager at JYSK, led a digital learning overhaul for the Danish retail chain that operates over 2,500 stores in 50 countries and trains more than 22,000 employees who speak 20 languages. The business challenge was a legacy LMS that wasn’t mobile-friendly or multilingual and delivered low-value, “tick-box” courses—meaning the mandatory Introduction Index for new joiners was completed late and learners were disengaged, despite rapid growth (about one new store a day and ~10% more new joiners annually).

JYSK selected Kallidus Learn and rolled it out after consultant meetings in Nov 2017, super-user training in Jan 2018, a pilot in Apr 2018 (Czech, Finland, Slovakia) and full launch in Jun 2018. Mobile-optimised, interactive, multi-language courses (about 19 pre-assigned for a typical retail starter), social promotion and improved analytics shifted learning from chore to choice. Early results include a 10% uplift in sales turnover, staff satisfaction up 14% and L&D satisfaction up 16% versus benchmarks, plus stronger on-the-job readiness and voluntary learner engagement.
