AstraZeneca needed a consistent, practical refresher for its Security, Health and the Environment auditors to ensure they were ready to conduct complex site audits. As part of a blended learning approach, Kallidus was asked to create an e-learning refresher that mirrored the real-world demands of auditing and could be taken by all auditors before they carried out inspections.

Kallidus built an immersive simulation in which learners investigate a process failure at the fictional Pharmacentrix site, practice auditing skills in a virtual environment, and record findings in a virtual notepad. The course became a mandatory refresher taken by all AstraZeneca auditors and provides appraisers with the recorded observations and actions needed to evaluate and certify learners as ready to audit.
