RTL 102.5, Italy’s popular radio station, needed a more scalable and reliable way to manage the growing volume of listener interactions across multiple programs and channels. The editorial team was receiving hundreds of messages at a time and needed a faster way to classify, organize, and respond to audience input in real time. Kaleyra provided WhatsApp Business API and SMS services to help RTL improve two-way communication with its audience.
With Kaleyra’s messaging platform, RTL 102.5 was able to route and classify incoming messages by program, share them with presenters in real time, and send timely updates about shows and live events via SMS. The results included a stronger user base of 7 million active listeners, 1 million monthly incoming messages, and 1.7 million WhatsApp messages in less than a year, including 38,000 messages on New Year’s Eve alone.
