How Ola Leveraged Kaleyra’s Cloud Communication To Connect Customers And Drivers Via Messaging

OLA, India’s leading cab aggregator, needed a reliable way to manage real-time communication with riders, drivers, and partners as its user base and ride volume grew rapidly. To overcome the limits of traditional telephony and support faster, safer, and more scalable customer updates, OLA turned to Kaleyra’s cloud communications and messaging platform.

Kaleyra implemented a cloud-based messaging solution for OLA to handle booking alerts, OTPs, payment notifications, ride-sharing updates, driver instructions, multilingual messages, and promotional campaigns. The impact was significant: Kaleyra powered about 70% of OLA’s SMS volume in 2017, delivered more than 27 million messages per month, helped reduce fake bookings to almost 0%, and enabled OLA to reach over 20% more of its growing customer base while expanding into tier-2 and tier-3 cities and international markets.
