Modern Terminals’ DaChan Bay Terminals in Shenzhen needed a more scalable, flexible, and sustainable terminal operating system to support growing volumes, interface with shipping and cargo customers, integrate with billing, and keep pace with automation standards in the shipping industry. Kaleris implemented N4 in just 8 months, helping DaChan Bay improve operations and move toward automation. The terminal saw a 57% cargo throughput increase, a 5% improvement in TEU cost, an 18% increase in haulage productivity, and a 27% reduction in unit costs in the first four months of 2016; it also cut total haulage costs by 19% versus 2013 despite higher volume and contractor rates.
