A Kaleris Case Study
Caacupe-mi, a family-owned port operator in Paraguay, was struggling to keep up as container and cargo volumes nearly doubled after 2013. Its existing terminal operating system could no longer support the scale, and the company needed a more scalable way to improve berth productivity, reduce costs, cut trucker wait times, improve yard planning, and minimize rehandles. Kaleris provided the supply chain execution software solution, Navis N4.
Kaleris implemented Navis N4 with a multi-facility license across Caacupe-mi’s Asuncion and Pilar terminals, helping streamline operations and improve control over daily activities. The results were significant: average truck turn time dropped from two hours or more to just 25 minutes, invoice processing time fell from 25 minutes per customer to 4–6 minutes, and berth productivity increased from 13–14 to 20+ container moves per hour. Caacupe-mi also maintained the same team and infrastructure while handling higher volumes, with cargo volume at Pilar rising nearly 40% from 2014 to 2015.
