WWF Impactio Project Puts Sustainability Projects & Donors on a Kaleido Blockchain Network

WWF launched Impactio to help close a reported $2.5 trillion funding gap for the UN Sustainable Development Goals by creating a scalable platform that connects practitioners, experts, donors and investors to social and environmental projects. To provide the necessary transparency and trust, Impactio runs on Kaleido’s Enterprise Ethereum Blockchain Business Cloud, addressing WWF’s challenge of linking private capital to vetted, high‑impact projects.

Kaleido supplied a full‑stack blockchain environment that enabled Impactio’s token‑curated registry, smart contracts and distributed peer‑review workflow. In a seven‑week pilot (July 1–Aug 21) the platform attracted over 100 participants who reviewed 34 projects and secured a pilot donation of $20,000 (AUD 30,000) from Australian Ethical. By using Kaleido, WWF demonstrated improved transparency and donor confidence, streamlined vetting and funding processes, and validated a model ready to scale for greater SDG investment.
