Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco launches a Webby Honoree digital storytelling platform with Kalamuna and 22 streamlined feature components

The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (FAMSF) needed to generate dynamic, single-page experiences for their exhibitions but their existing Drupal 8 platform was inflexible and unsustainable. It couldn't handle unique design requirements for each new story, leading to technical debt. FAMSF hired Kalamuna to evaluate their platform and implement new designs, seeking greater control and innovation in their digital storytelling.

Kalamuna implemented a solution using their Kalastatic prototyping tool and the GatherContent CMS. This provided a flexible platform where content components could be individually styled and reordered for each story without impacting others. The results were highly successful, earning FAMSF a 2019 Webby Honoree award. The new platform empowered the museum's team to independently publish and innovate, with several digital stories launched to overwhelming appreciation.
