A KaiNexus Case Study
Qorvo, the recently merged semiconductor company behind wafers and RF solutions for mobile, network, and defense markets, needed a way to capture and share continuous-improvement ideas across a growing, distributed workforce. Faced with paper A3s, shared drives that made information hard to find, and general software overload, Qorvo adopted the KaiNexus continuous improvement platform to give employees an easy, centralized place to submit and track improvement “nails” without disrupting their workflows.
Using KaiNexus, Qorvo created a searchable, organization-wide repository that empowered operators, technicians, engineers, and managers to record and share ideas in real time. The results speak for themselves: in 2014 Qorvo logged nearly 2,000 improvement opportunities from over 300 employees (about six ideas per person), with 91% completed and 93.5% of those completed resulting in change — including 755 quality improvements, 216 safety improvements, 893 boosts to customer/employee satisfaction and $7 million in measurable financial impact.
