The construction division of the country's largest public school system faced significant challenges managing its $20 billion capital program. Their 20-year-old project management information system (PMIS) and numerous disparate point solutions were inefficient, could not scale, and hindered the delivery of new and expanded learning facilities for a growing student population. To modernize its processes, the school system partnered with vendor Kahua to implement a new, agile PMIS platform.

Kahua delivered a comprehensive solution, fully replacing the legacy system and using its low-code application platform to customize over 40 apps and build new functionalities. The implementation unified disparate business units, integrated with existing systems like Oracle, and included extensive training. The result is a flexible system now used by over 400 internal users and 1,600 external vendors, providing complete collaboration, transparency, and accountability for the massive capital program.
