Getting in Kahootz with suppliers to deliver post-procurement innovation

Crossrail, working with Tier 1 contractors including Costain, Skanska, Balfour Beatty and Kier, needed a secure, cloud-based way to share post‑procurement innovations during delivery to reduce costs and speed up adoption. They chose Kahootz to build a jointly funded, Crossrail‑branded portal called Innovate18 that gives partners controlled access to sensitive information, expert know‑how and development funding while allowing all organisations to contribute to its management and membership.

Kahootz delivered a stable, customisable collaboration platform with restricted workspaces, weekly "What's New" email updates and mobile access; Innovate18 now has over 800 users and the network has shared and re‑used more than 30 ideas to date. The solution has increased senior engagement, enabled cross‑team use by Communications and Legal, and Kahootz’s portal is already proving its value in accelerating innovation with planned publications on resulting major cost savings to come.
