How Arizona State University uses Kahoot! to gain insights into sustainability literacy

Arizona State University, through the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory™, wanted to better understand sustainability literacy while engaging learners in topics like food, energy, water, and social justice. Working with Kahoot!, the team used interactive quizzes to support outreach and assessment around sustainability and global futures.

Kahoot! helped ASU launch its “Sustainable Futures” collection, a series of nine kahoots created by students and hosted more than 400,000 times, reaching over 1 million participants worldwide. The campaign generated insights into participant understanding, improved sustainability literacy assessment practices, and even supported a research article published in the *Journal of Geoscience Education*, showing how Kahoot! can drive both large-scale engagement and measurable learning impact.
