Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals uses Kahoot! to onboard staff across 170 hospitals

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a North American nonprofit that supports children’s hospitals, faced the challenge of onboarding staff across 170 hospitals in a way that kept trainees engaged and improved knowledge retention. To modernize their blended onboarding (online modules + in-person sessions) and make full-day training more effective, they turned to Kahoot! as an interactive learning and survey tool.

Kahoot! was integrated throughout onboarding—trainers run at least seven Kahoot!s per day, use leaderboards and visuals to spark competition, and employ challenges and surveys at the hospital level. The Kahoot! approach increased engagement and retention, kept participants focused and excited, and produced measurable impact: help-desk inquiries about onboarding topics have declined, and the organization is expanding Kahoot! use across more learning paths.
