Case Study: Palo Alto International Film Festival (PAIFF) achieves real-time mobile film feedback with Kaazing

A Kaazing Case Study

Preview of the PAIFF Case Study

Web-based Real-Time Film Feedback using Mobile Devices

PAIFF, the Palo Alto International Film Festival, needed a modern way to gather instant quantitative and qualitative movie feedback, since traditional paper ballots and manual tallying were slow, error-prone, and lacked security. It partnered with Kaazing and its WebSocket Gateway, JMS Edition to move beyond outdated voting methods and create a real-time, mobile-first feedback experience for festivalgoers.

Kaazing helped PAIFF launch the Instant Film Feedback mobile application, enabling audience members to rate films and participate in trivia from any mobile device right from their seats. The solution delivered immediate results on smartphones and theater screens, increased engagement, and generated measurable impact: more than 2,000 pre-show trivia registrations, over 10,000 questions answered, 1,200+ votes for the Kaazing Audience Award, and coverage from 700+ media pieces with 5.7 million monthly impressions worldwide.
