Grosse Pointe Public Schools recoup outstanding fees and fines with K-12 Online

Grosse Pointe Public Schools needed to modernize a paper-heavy registration and payment process that was slow to update, created manual work for staff, and made it difficult to collect bounced checks and overdue fees. After using an earlier online approach that still didn’t integrate well with their student information system, the district turned to K-12 Online to find a more efficient and flexible solution.

K-12 Online implemented an integrated online registration and web store system that streamlined forms, payments, and fee collection across schools. The district saw major results: parent response to fines and missing books rose from about 25% to over 75%, and the high school collected more than $1,000 in old fines. K-12 Online also helped Grosse Pointe reach 100% family adoption of online registration in year two, with strong parent feedback and plans to expand the system districtwide.
