ITV and JWP Partner to Successfully Deliver Live Content on the Freely UK Platform

ITV, one of the UK’s major commercial television networks and co-owner of Freely, needed a cost-effective way to deliver its linear channels on the Freely platform while meeting strict platform requirements for IP delivery, content protection, and accessibility. JWX worked with ITV to solve these Freely-specific technical challenges using its live streaming and broadcast delivery technology.

JWX implemented its Broadcast Live platform to ingest ITV’s primary and backup linear channels, convert them into the Freely-approved DVB DASH format, and secure them with Studio DRM for compliant content protection. The solution now supports 23 channels plus 23 redundant channels, with testing across DRM, subtitling, metadata, accessibility, and DVR requirements, giving ITV a secure, scalable, future-proof live streaming service.
