Q.Digital, the world’s largest LGBTQ-owned digital media network operating brands like LGBTQNation, Queerty, GayCities and IntoMore, needed to boost video discoverability and ad revenue while overcoming seasonal advertiser demand concentrated around Pride month. The publisher wanted to get more return from its curated video programming (Queerty TV and other series) and chose JW Player as the video platform to help optimize placements, viewability and monetization.
Using JW Player’s embeddable player and sidebar widget with autoplay, sticky placement and a recommendations-driven playlist, Q.Digital distributed video across every page, repurposed social streams, and increased discoverability. The result was dramatic: 2M+ video plays/month, a 10,976% increase in monthly plays (2,150,000 in May 2021 vs. a 2020 average of 19,412) and a 25,791% jump in ad impressions (2,677,000 in May 2021 vs. 10,339 average), with plays and impressions doubling from April to May 2021 after deploying JW Player.
