Stadtwerke Heidenheim AG expands solar portfolio with juwi Group's 10.8 MW plant generating 12.3 million kWh a year

The customer, Stadtwerke Heidenheim AG, faced the challenge of expanding its renewable energy portfolio with a project located on a historically complex site containing unexploded ordnance and a listed bunker. They acquired and partnered with the juwi Group to develop the Truppacherhof solar park.

The solution implemented by juwi involved constructing the 10.8 MW solar park under these unique conditions, which required careful planning and coordination with authorities to safely handle the discovery of ordnance. As a result, the plant now generates approximately 12.3 million kWh of green electricity annually, enough to power around 4,200 households and avoid 13,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. juwi remains responsible for the technical operations of the facility.
