Preview of the Spies Packaging Case Study

Spies Packaging covers 70-80% of plant electricity with juwi Group's 10 MW solar park

Spies Packaging, a packaging manufacturer, sought to reduce its ecological footprint and cover part of its electricity needs with climate-friendly energy. To meet this challenge, it partnered with renewable energy specialist juwi Group to develop an on-site solar power plant.

juwi implemented a ten-megawatt peak solar park that supplies electricity directly to Spies Packaging's production plant. This solution allows the customer to directly use 70-80% of the generated clean energy for its operations, significantly reducing its carbon emissions. The project also included extensive biodiversity measures, transforming the site into a habitat for local flora and fauna. Any surplus power is fed into the public grid, providing green electricity for the surrounding region.
