Case Study: SHARPX achieves a Kickstarter-ready high-fidelity mobile prototype with Justinmind

A Justinmind Case Study

Preview of the SHARPX Case Study

When prototyping meets crowdfunding SHARPX’s personal grooming mobile app

SHARPX is a subscription-based mobile app founded by Patrick “PJ” Dunlop that aims to be a “Netflix for personal grooming,” letting users buy monthly appointment passes to book barbers, salons and stylists easily. After losing his regular barber, PJ identified the friction and second-guessing that keeps people from booking services and needed a way to showcase the idea and secure funding despite limited mobile UI experience—so he turned to prototyping to present the concept before coding and while launching a Kickstarter campaign.

Using Justinmind, PJ built a high-fidelity interactive prototype in about two months, adding swipe gestures, animations, payment integrations and validated input flows to demonstrate the user journey. The prototype made iteration fast and intuitive, enabled team and investor demos via private/public links and Teamwork features, supported the Kickstarter launch (targeting $45,000), and provided developers with enough detail to give accurate estimates as SHARPX moves toward outsourcing development and a planned December launch.
