How prototyping has helped launch networking mobile app, Deets

Deets is a mobile networking app from Evan Krauss (creator of Yahoo Mobile) that replaces business cards by letting someone photograph a phone screen and receive contact details via text. The challenge was to design a flawless, mobile-first interface that overcomes adoption barriers (no requirement that both parties have the app), iterate rapidly, validate the concept with users and investors, and prototype realistic mobile behavior without losing work or needing constant online access.

Using Justinmind’s desktop, drag-and-drop prototyping and data-driven features, Evan built high-fidelity, interactive mobile prototypes, simulated real sign-ins with Data Masters, and ran fast iteration cycles and user tests. The prototype impressed developers and investors, enabled live sharing and collaboration, and helped move Deets into user testing with a validated design and faster feedback loops — with plans to add integrated user-testing and custom UI widgets next.
