Roger Wood Foods is a family-owned, SQF-certified meat processor in Savannah, Georgia, producing more than 400,000 pounds of smoked meats weekly for national and regional grocers. When their heavily customized Microsoft Dynamics NAV system became obsolete and Microsoft began retiring the older Navision product, Roger Wood Foods sought a food-specific ERP with built-in catch weight functionality and selected Aptean Food & Beverage ERP JustFood Edition for its food-industry focus and upgrade-friendly customization approach.

Roger Wood Foods went live with Aptean Food & Beverage ERP JustFood Edition in September 2012 and worked with the vendor to refine catch weight features. The JustFood solution improved warehousing and containerization (allowing a single container license-plate scan instead of scanning each case), enabled tracking of inventory transactions by individual catch weights, and provided more accurate cost distribution based on actual case weight—leading to greater operational efficiency and clearer visibility into product costs; Roger Wood Foods later added JustFood’s Quality Management and plans to integrate JF Plant.
