The City of Kissimmee faced the challenge of managing a high volume of public records requests, averaging 841 per month, using a cumbersome spreadsheet that only one person could access at a time. This inefficient process, coupled with strict legal response deadlines and a goal to go paperless, created significant pressure. The city needed a solution to streamline requests across its 28 departments and improve its ability to track and respond in a timely manner. They implemented the JustFOIA request management software to address these issues.

By adopting JustFOIA, the city eliminated its single-user spreadsheet and enabled multiple users across all departments to process requests simultaneously and track their status. The solution provided secure, anonymous access for requestors and integrated with their Laserfiche system for electronic records and redactions.
