University of Copenhagen Builds Innovative, Resilient, and HighPerformance Network Platform

The University of Copenhagen, Denmark’s largest research and teaching institution, needed a cost-effective, scalable network to support 37,000 students and 7,000 staff—especially scientists working from nine remote locations with large datasets—and to provide secure BYOD and guest access with guaranteed uptime for critical experiments.

The university deployed Juniper SRX and SSG gateways, WLA532 access points and WLC880 controllers over an MPLS/10GbE backbone to deliver a redundant, high-performance VPN and wireless platform. The result: campus-wide adoption of Juniper wireless, reliable remote access and collaboration for researchers, scalable support for big-data initiatives like the virtual microscope, compliance with environmental guidelines, and responsive 24/7 support.
