Case Study: BAS Group achieves consistent customer experience and enterprise-grade POS availability with Juniper Networks

A Juniper Networks Case Study

Preview of the BAS Group Case Study

The Netherland’s Largest Consumer Electronics Retailer Delivers a Consistent Experience for its Customers

BAS Group, the Netherlands’ largest multi-brand consumer electronics retailer with more than 200 stores (brands including MyCom and Dixons), faced an increasingly unreliable, piecemeal network that threatened a consistent customer experience across physical and online channels. The company needed to upgrade connectivity to every store, improve wireless access, raise availability for e‑commerce and POS systems, and gain greater control and manageability of its in‑store networks.

BAS Group deployed a single-vendor Juniper solution—EX2200/EX4500 switches, SRX110/550 gateways, WLA532 access points and WLC2800 controllers—with full redundancy, VLANs and VoIP QoS, implemented by in‑house teams and a Juniper partner. The rollout delivered zero headquarters outages over two years, higher POS availability with built‑in redundancy and failover (including 3G backups), and stronger centralized control and troubleshooting for every store, while leaving significant capacity for future growth.
