Settle College delivers better learning environment across dual-campus setup

Settle College, a century-old Yorkshire school with a specialist technology focus, was expanding to an 11–18 dual-campus model but its aging network was failing. The school could not support HD media editing, VLAN-based BYOD, or reliable access to critical management systems, and needed a higher-performance, manageable switching solution on an aggressive one-week timeline to preserve its reputation and deliver courses.

Partnering with Net-Ctrl, the college deployed a 22-switch Juniper solution (EX4200 core, EX2200 edge, Junos OS, 10 Gb intersite link and Virtual Chassis) in five days. The upgrade enabled gigabit-to-desktop performance, HD video editing/encoding across the network, VLAN-driven BYOD, simplified management, reduced maintenance and total cost of ownership, and delivered redundancy and capacity to support future services.
