School District in Wine Country Picks Juniper to Cultivate Digital Learning Future

St. Helena Unified School District, a 1,200‑student district in California’s Napa Valley, faced a failing 20‑year‑old network that disrupted digital learning—turning one‑week Common Core testing windows into three and preventing wider use of web‑based curriculum and devices like iPads and Chromebooks. The legacy infrastructure could not meet new federal requirements or support a growing number of online instructional tools.

Working with Sactech, the district migrated to a Juniper‑based network (EX4200/EX4550 switches in Virtual Chassis, SRX550 gateways, and Junos Space) in under three months. The upgrade doubled throughput, fixed firewall issues for CIPA compliance, improved reliability and failover, and centralized management—enabling smooth web‑based assessments, confident 1:1 learning, and easier IT administration.
