RTC Reserve Telecommunications Attracts New Customers with Metro Ethernet Services

RTC Reserve Telecommunications, a privately held small‑town telco founded in 1935, serves residential and business customers across three Louisiana parishes. Facing rising consumer demand for faster Internet and a strategic need to attract more business customers, RTC needed to modernize its core network and deliver enterprise‑ready connectivity—particularly metro Ethernet—while retaining its customer‑first, small‑town approach.

RTC deployed Juniper MX Series edge routers and ACX Series access routers running Junos OS to build a resilient, scalable MPLS/metro‑Ethernet network. The new infrastructure sped service deployment, lowered operational and support costs, improved performance (including sub‑1 ms branch latency for key customers), enabled DDoS mitigation and greater traffic visibility, and helped RTC win new business customers and offer higher‑bandwidth residential packages while expanding its geographic reach.
