Revlon, Inc. Moves to the Cloud with Juniper Networks to Increase Global Business Agility

Revlon, Inc., the global cosmetics company, faced a major IT challenge: consolidate hundreds of applications (including 21 ERP systems) and move 531 apps to a private cloud to boost business agility, reduce costs, and create a consistent global master-data and big-data architecture. The goal was a single, simple, scalable and resilient network that would support rapid deployment, strong security and disaster recovery.

Revlon implemented a Juniper-powered “flat” network and virtualization stack (EX and SRX series, Junos Space, MAG/Junos Pulse, Firefly Host, SBR, Secure Analytics, etc.) to centralize apps and data and enable horizontal data movement. The result: 531 apps running on the private cloud (97% of compute), network availability of 99.9999%, data replicated every 15 minutes (17–30 TB/week), application deployment time cut by up to 70%, data-center power down 72%, 14,000 transactions/sec, and an estimated $70.4 million in IT cost avoidance.
