Japan’s Mixi Accelerates Service Development and Deployment with Seamless Connectivity Between Cloud and On-Premise Systems

mixi, Inc. is a Japanese social networking and entertainment provider best known for its platform and the hit mobile game Monster Strike. Rapid user growth and a cloud‑first development approach created a need to move services quickly between cloud and on‑premise environments, while avoiding IP conflicts, managing many ACLs, and reducing network management overhead and human error.

mixi deployed Juniper MX480 routers and QFX5100 switches (in a Virtual Chassis) with an MPLS/VRF architecture and Junos OS to segment networks, map cloud services to on‑premise environments, and simplify configuration. The result was faster service provisioning, seamless cloud–on‑premise connectivity, lower administrative effort and manpower needs, reduced risk of errors, and stable, high‑performance operations.
