A Juniper Networks Case Study
Interactive Data’s 7ticks provides ultra‑low‑latency market data and trading infrastructure to institutions worldwide. Faced with rapidly growing multicast feeds (now ~50 GB/day and doubling year over year), the company needed to scale its global IP/MPLS network and data‑center fabric to 40 Gbps (with a clear path to 100 Gbps+), while meeting strict latency, reliability, and automation requirements.
Working with Juniper, 7ticks deployed a MetaFabric architecture—MX Series routers (MX480/MX80/MX5), QFX3600 and EX4550/EX4200 switches, SRX3400 gateways, Junos OS, and professional/resident engineering services—to build a 40 Gbps MPLS backbone across 50+ data centers. The deployment delivered extremely low‑latency market feeds, predictable multicast replication at scale, simplified operations via a single OS and Zero Touch Provisioning, and faster, more automated application rollouts with an easy upgrade path to higher bandwidths.
