A Juniper Networks Case Study
Goethe University, one of Germany’s largest universities with about 41,000 students, faced rapidly growing digital traffic and resource demands as it moved to a larger campus. The IT team needed a high-performance, secure and scalable data center design that would protect existing network investments, reduce errors and support continued growth without simply adding more hardware.
After extensive testing, the university chose Juniper Networks QFabric System, a flat fabric that operates as a single switch with reusable 10GbE Nodes, Interconnects and Directors. The new architecture delivered single‑hop any‑to‑any connectivity, higher redundancy and service availability, consistent QoS, reduced complexity and errors, and allowed the university to reuse existing equipment while providing a clear path for future growth.
