German Tour Operator Migrates Critical Applications to a New Fault-Tolerant Data Center

alltours, one of Germany’s largest independent tour operators serving nearly two million travellers a year, needed a new high-performance, fault-tolerant data center when it relocated its headquarters. With a 24x7 operation dependent on fast, always-available systems—website, central booking databases and a VoIP call center—the company required a green-field network build that guaranteed high availability, zero downtime during upgrades, and easy scalability.

alltours deployed an end-to-end Juniper solution using QFX and EX Series switches (including MC‑LAG and Virtual Chassis designs) to create a resilient, hitless-upgrade data center fabric. The migration was completed overnight with no disruption, all critical applications now run on the new network, there have been no outages since, and the architecture provides in-service upgrades and room to scale as the business grows.
