Case Study: SIA achieves highly available, low-latency, future-proof data centers with Juniper Networks

A Juniper Networks Case Study

Preview of the SIA Case Study

European IT Supplier to Financial Services Industry Builds Highly Available Data Center

SIA, a European leader in technology infrastructures for banks and financial institutions, needed to refresh two data centers to guarantee the highest levels of business continuity for its customers. The challenge was to replace a traditional three‑tier design with a low‑latency, highly resilient, future‑proof network capable of supporting mixed interface speeds and large-scale data replication with minimal downtime.

Following proof‑of‑concept testing with partner TEXOR, SIA implemented a Juniper MetaFabric–aligned two‑layer architecture using MX960 routers and QFX5100 switches in an active/active IP/MPLS fabric (with traffic engineering) that avoids Spanning Tree. The deployment delivered the required low latency and availability, better link utilization, stronger automation and operational efficiency, and a scalable platform ready for 40/100GbE and virtualized data‑center technologies like VXLAN/EVPN.
