Dutch Service Provider A2B Internet Virtualizes Its Routing and Automates with the vMX Virtual Router

A2B Internet is a Netherlands-based connectivity provider operating in 16 data centers and serving ISPs, cloud, hosting and SMB customers with BGP transit, low-latency and high-bandwidth connectivity. As routing tables grew, the company needed faster BGP convergence, higher stability and cost‑effective multihoming, plus simpler IPv6 deployment and greater automation to meet customer demands.

A2B deployed Juniper’s vMX virtual router on KVM with SR‑IOV on bare‑metal servers, bringing MX Series features in a virtual form. The move reduced full BGP convergence from minutes to 3–4 seconds, enabled multiple virtual routers per server for cost‑effective multihoming, simplified IPv6 rollout, and established a platform for increased automation and managed‑service offerings.
