Dreamhack Sets Guinness World Record for 1.6 Tbps Internet with Juniper Routing

DreamHack, the global e‑sports, cosplay and gaming festival that drew more than 52,000 attendees to DreamHack Summer 2018, faced the challenge of building an ultra‑low‑latency, high‑capacity event network to support competitive gaming, massive BYOC tournaments and media—on an extremely tight timeline.

Using Juniper MX960 core routers with EX4600 and EX2300 switches and automated provisioning via Junos (with DWDM links from Com Hem to Stockholm), the team built the event network in five days. The deployment delivered a Guinness World Record 1.6 Tbps of event capacity, fast, stable low‑latency performance, rapid automated provisioning and a high‑visibility on‑site showcase.
