Deltares Embraces a Flexible Workplace as it Helps Urban Areas Respond to Climate Change

Deltares, a Netherlands‑based independent institute for applied research that helps governments and businesses make delta and coastal regions more resilient, needed to modernize its campus network to support an open workplace. The goal was to improve reliability, performance and security so people could plug in and work anywhere across eight buildings while protecting high‑performance compute servers and data storage from compromised client devices.

Deltares deployed Juniper EX2300 access switches (with Virtual Chassis) and adopted Junos Space Network Director to create a fully routed, redundant campus with PoE, port security and successful 802.1X authentication. By segmenting the network and isolating the data center, the solution delivered tight control over wired ports, mitigated breach impact, integrated into a multivendor environment, simplified operations, and provided a fast, highly available, secure network for over 1,000 employees.
