Big Bear Lake Delivers Great Visitor Experiences with Cloudmanaged Networking

Big Bear Visitors Center, the destination marketing organization for the alpine resort community of Big Bear Lake outside Los Angeles, needed to modernize its IT to support visitors and local businesses despite spotty cell service, unreliable landlines and expensive broadband. The bureau’s goal was to use technology to grow tourism and deliver dependable connectivity for events, vendors and staff.

Working with Blue Chip Computer Systems, Big Bear deployed a cloud-managed Juniper and Aerohive wired and wireless solution — including Juniper Sky Enterprise, Aerohive access points, EX2300 switches, SRX340 gateway and a hosted 3CX phone platform. The rollout delivered enterprise-grade performance, simplified cloud management and stronger security, enabling fast Office 365 and file transfers, reliable voice, free event Wi‑Fi and vendor payments, reduced on-premises equipment and measurable cost and operational savings.
