A Juniper Networks Case Study
Telehouse America, a carrier‑neutral data center operator with major New York sites (and 46 facilities worldwide), needed to modernize the network linking its Staten Island and Chelsea campuses to support growing multitenant demand while reducing the workload on a small engineering team. The firm required EVPN/VXLAN for tenant scale, an Ethernet fabric to simplify operations, and an API for automated control because manual configuration changes could take hours or half a day.
Telehouse deployed Juniper QFX5100 switches with an L3 underlay and EVPN/VXLAN overlay, using Virtual Chassis Fabric and Junos OS (with a REST API) to manage the fabric as a single device and automate configuration. As a result, network changes that once took hours now take about five minutes, operations are greatly simplified, multitenant agility and scalability are improved, and the company is positioned to extend the design to other locations.
