Case Study: Partizan achieves a dystopian 3D anime music video with JumpKick's animation and VFX

Partizan’s Iglu & Hartley video reaches MTV2 with JumpKick’s 3D anime production

The customer, Partizan, commissioned the vendor JumpKick to help create a 3D anime-styled music video. The challenge was to design and animate a lead character and robotic elements, achieving a hybrid 2D/3D animation style for a music video directed by Henry Scholfield for the band Iglu & Hartley.

JumpKick designed the character from the ground up and realized it using 3D cel-shaded animation to match popular anime references. The character was then animated against hand-drawn backdrops with visual effects composited into the shots. The successful music video was subsequently aired on MTV2.
