CBeebies Big Barn Farm brings 450+ VFX shots to life with JumpKick

The children's television show CBeebies Big Barn Farm, produced by iCarley Media, required high-quality visual effects to bring its cast of talking farm animals to life for over 450 shots. They faced the challenge of achieving this with a very quick turnaround time to meet their air date. The vendor JumpKick was engaged to provide its talking animal CGI service to solve this.

JumpKick implemented a solution by animating CG mouths over the live-action footage, meticulously tracking and lipsyncing them to the audio using 3DS Max. The rendered elements were then composited into the scenes with After Effects. This process successfully balanced speed and quality, allowing JumpKick to deliver all VFX shots on schedule. The completed series aired on the CBeebies TV channel in the UK in 2010.
