Unifying IT Coast-to-Coast by Replacing Active Directory

Ace Payroll, a payroll, HR, and benefits company with offices across New York, Florida, Nevada, and Arizona, needed to unify three separate Microsoft Active Directory environments after a series of mergers. The decentralized setup created VPN hassles, limited remote access, and made it difficult to manage users, systems, and resources across the country. Ace Payroll turned to JumpCloud’s cloud-based Directory-as-a-Service to replace on-prem Active Directory and centralize identity management.

With JumpCloud, Ace Payroll migrated its IT environment to a single cloud directory without major disruption, quickly moving users and systems over in just a few days. The company gained centralized management for Windows, Mac, and Linux devices, along with remote access control, Office 365 and Google Apps integration, and two-factor authentication. JumpCloud also simplified onboarding and offboarding, suspended access more cleanly, and made remote workforce management far easier, with the east-west IT divide “almost entirely disappeared.”
