The Church Online Centralizing Identity & Access Management for File Servers and More

The Church Online, a Pittsburgh-based provider of technology services for ministries and organizations, was growing quickly and struggling to keep identity and access management under control. As staff and systems expanded, the team needed a scalable way to manage onboarding, offboarding, and access to sensitive resources like file servers, so they turned to JumpCloud and its Directory-as-a-Service (DaaS) platform.

JumpCloud centralized their IAM by using LDAP, Google Apps integration, and later Samba file server authentication to streamline user and system management. The rollout was smooth, taking about three minutes per user to switch over, and tasks like provisioning new software dropped from up to three hours to about fifteen minutes. JumpCloud also made deprovisioning faster and simpler, reduced password sprawl, and helped The Church Online save IT time as it continued to grow.
