Boulder Heavy Industries Extending AD & Going Remote

Boulder Heavy Industries (BHI), a collective of marketing startups in Boulder, Colorado, needed a way to extend its Active Directory environment to non-Windows devices and remote users. With employees suddenly working from home during COVID-19, BHI struggled to manage macOS and Windows systems, sync passwords reliably without VPN access, and reduce dependence on a patchwork of identity and management tools.

JumpCloud’s Active Directory Integration helped BHI create a cloud-based identity bridge with bi-directional sync to AD, self-service password resets, and centralized management for macOS and Windows devices. The team rolled out the solution in about 10 days, improved remote onboarding, enabled password changes without VPN, and began consolidating multiple tools into a single source of truth, with future plans for MFA, SSO, and broader policy management.
